Happy Birthday Tucker!

Apparently everyone had a lot of fun celebrating Tucker's one year birthday a few days ago.  I am surprised that my Mother was able to get Luna to hold still for more than a second with something on top of her head.  There must have been cookies involved!

Where is Finley?  Oh there she is behind Penny’s hat!

That's is more like it!

Finley a fair warrior

Coming up with puppy names can be a fun experience. I know that when the time came for D and me to think if a name for Luna, it was quite an extensive task. You can read about our puppy naming experience here. When we adopted Penny, she was originally referred to from her foster parents as Betty Jane; however that name really didn’t jive with the two of us. We thought that the name Penny would be an easy transition from Betty… and we also like saying that Penny was our ‘lucky penny’…

My mother was originally thinking of names like, Lucy, Pearl, Lilly or Daisy… but after visiting a few name sites she became very fond of Finley.

Here is some information about the origins of the name Finley from various baby name sites-

Finely

Gender: Boy (even though our Finely is a girl)

Origin: Gaelic

Meaning: Fair warrior (perfect as she will have to defend herself from big brother Tucker. Plus she is very fair in coloring).

Categories: Irish/Scottish Names

Used in: English speaking countries

Additional info: Finley is masculine in all other English, though it has gained some popularity as a female name in the U.S.

You can see that Finley is already living up to her name as she started this little brawl with Tucker.
