We are all about clean teeth and gums in this house, even more so now that Penny has had a recent cleaning.  Anything that I can do to help maintain her pearly whites is fine by me, even if that means using dog treats that will fight plaque and tarter buildup.

Kong Dental Chews are supposed to do just that; fight plaque and tarter buildup, and inhibiting bacterial growth to reduce chances of gum disease.  There are three different Chews to choose from all offering something slightly different from one another.

All three chews were a big hit with the dogs!  The chew does have a strong smell to it, but it is otherwise very firm and does not rub off into your hands.  The treat roughly measures around 2” in length which fits perfectly into a small Kong toy.  Since Penny can swallow things quite quickly, I felt more at ease breaking up the chew into smaller pieces, and by breaking I mean using my strong kitchen scissors to do the job.  It took her quite a while to consume the treat; as well it did with Luna too.
