Black & White Sunday #34

Today I am doing something a little different and converting a colored photo using a new Photoshop action I received from Everyday Elements.  I have a few b&W actions (but rarely use them) and think this one by far does the best job mimicking a real b&w photo.  The action also comes with a layer to create a touch of matte, which was used on the second photo.  I should also note that I received the PSE action because I subscribed to the Everyday Elements newsletter. What do you think? Pretty convincing right?

How To Make An Animated Image

How to make and animated image

You see these everywhere right?  Do you know how to make one?  I certainly didn't until I ran across a few tutorials the other day.   I think animated\nimages are kind of fun and I have always wanted to learn how to make one.  I thought that these tutorials will come in handy someday\nif you ever wanted to make an animated banner add or something fun for your\nblog.

Last week we celebrated National Margarita day and for fun we made one ginormous margarita and shared it over the weekend.  I am not endorsing alcohol consumption here, but I thought that the photos I had taken made for a fun and silly animated image.  D was (obviously) up for the challenge too!

The first tutorial is for Photoshop CS5 users - or any version of Photoshop.  I do not own Photoshop so there would be no point in me giving you step by step instructions on how to make an animated image.  So instead I am going to send you over to one of my favorite blogs Kevin & Amanda to check out her awesome tutorial.  You will probably come back with a few decadent recipes from her site too!

The second is a video tutorial for Photoshop Element users.  I own PSE10 and after watching this tutorial I was able to quickly create the animated image above.  I will say that it helps to edit and re-size the photos you are working with before you arrange all of your images in layers, and I also wish PSE had a few more options (like PS) when it comes to customizing the speed of the loop.  Over all I am happy with the result and can see myself spending way too much time creating funny little animations.   Maybe I should do a "Luna and Penny at the Zoom Room" walking the A frame or jumping over hurdles – now that would be funny!

\u200BAnd just so you don't think that D and I are big lushes, here is a photo I found of Betty White recently floating around the internet.  Looks like she is hopping on the big glass trend!
